about

Elisabeth Klinck is firstly a musician and more precisely a violinist.
The direct relationship with her instrument is her main reference when performing and composing, but she easily moves between different techniques and practices, genres and media creating her own unique sound world. She talks about playing the violin as a daily ‘work’ and listening to her play you can hear her working. It’s a labor of seeking, thinking and doing.

This recording documents the dialogue between Klinck and the early brick-modernist home that Jozef Schellekens built for himself and his family in Turnhout.

The beauty of Jozef Schellekens’ house also lies in what can easily be mistaken for conflicts. Rooms and spaces inside are both large and small, open and closed, dark and light, reflecting both its domestic and artistic ambitions.
Schellekens ideas about nature, urbanism, materials and religion are what make him a complex, often ambiguous but certainly an important figure among contemporaries such as Stynen and Braem and a predecessor to a prolific next generation of architects in his region.

All proceeds from these recordings go to the respective musicians.
Initiated during a peculiar period where our social habits are restricted and music is now often a solitary practice, i hope to offer a clear picture of a single musician in a specific place

Thank You for listening
